So just what exactly does it take to produce our YouTube videos? If you check out the link below, we’ll take you behind the scenes and show you the cameras, lighting and sound set-up we use in the Commercial Kitchen.
When we started in the YouTube game about 8 months ago we did everything with a single GoPro but things are a bit more sophisticated now with multiple cameras, including the mighty Canon 1DX mark ii, and multiple sound recording devices. We’ll also briefly cover how we edit it all together in Adobe Premiere Pro. We’ve still got a huge amount to learn but we are starting now, I think, to make some quite decent videos so please jump in and take a look - we hope you find it both entertaining, and useful.
Here’s the full equipment list we use for those of you who are interested.
Main camera: Canon 1DX Mark ii w/ Canon EF16-35mm f/2.8 lens for video. We swap out for the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 for photography.
Backup cameras: 2 x GoPro Hero 8 Black and a Fuji X-T20
Monitor: SmallHD Focus 5”
Sound: Rode Video Mic Pro and Roland R-07 w/ Lav mike
Editing: Adobe Premiere Pro
Almost all of our camera equipment, bar the GoPros, has been sourced second-hand from MPB.com. They offer great value and exceptional customer service so, if you’re in the market for photo and video equipment, be sure to check them out!
